The prophet is the only office among the five-fold ministry that has an official counterpart in the Old Testament. The prophetic gift is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit which is given to the body of Christ. We are all called to prophesy, so as to exhort, encourage, & to edify. There are many teachings concerning prophets, as well as the gift of prophecy, but this retreat is not meant to address the various differences or controversies.
